Nairobi Restaurant Week – OhCha Noodle Bar (Part 2)

When you get the opportunity to eat great food at a discount, TAKE IT! The second restaurant I went to during the 2017 Nairobi Restaurant Week that ended a while back was Ohcha Noodle Bar at Westgate Shopping Mall in Westlands.

The place has a really nice photo collages on its walls and it is the first thing that stands out when you step in.

My friends and I sat outside on the very hot Sunday afternoon. I am still surprised we didn’t melt while out there. Whenever you are sitting outside the restaurant, make sure you sit under the fans on a hot day to help cool you down.

I ordered the thai fish cakes with sweet chilli sauce for my starter whereas my other friend ordered the tom yum soup (spicy and sour soup with vegetables, lemon grass and chicken)

For the main course, I had the chicken pineapple. This is stir fried chicken with pineapple, basil, vegetable and rice in soy and sweet chilli sauce. I had never eaten any of these things before so I was way out of my comfort zone in terms of food. The rice and all its accompanying tastes were new to my tastebuds.  I just felt like there was too much going on. Anyways, it does not hurt to try new things.

I hope to eat out more often and try a wider variety of cuisines. I hope to try out the noodle bar’s coconut and chilli egg noodle on my next visit. Ohcha Noodle Bar has another branch at Village Market’s food court in Gigiri. Feel free to visit either branch when you’re free or stay updated for their offers on their Facebook page.

Have a great week!
