Sieku Glamping – A rustic haven

Sieku cover.jpg

I have gone camping only twice in my life and loved the experience. But let me tell you, I had no idea what I was missing out on! Ever heard of glamarous camping? Glamour + camping = GLAMPING! And Sieku Glamping is the perfect embodiment of this! Leave all the tussles of unpacking tents, sleeping in a horrible sleeping bag and getting ants all over your tent behind! This place was PERFECT! My friends and I decided to go there this past weekend (which was coincidentally my birthday weekend)

We got there when it was dark so we could only relish its true beauty in the morning. I had seen pictures of the place online but when we got there, I kid you not, I wasn’t ready! My mind was blown away!

The tents were so comfortable and spacious! My tent was a bell tent that could easily accommodate three people as it had a double bed and single bed (this is especially ideal for a couple with a child) Every tent has a porch with chairs that you can relax on and enjoy the cool breeze

They have other tent options with double beds so the tent choice depends on your group (a minimum of 6 people is needed to book on weekends)

There is also a nice chilling place right next to the tents with foldable chairs and small wooden benches that you can relax on as you watch the sunrise/sunset

The shower and bathroom at the place blew me away too. You get to enjoy nature at every passing moment in this place!

When you are all psyched up to relax, there are swings, a chill bed, and a shaded sun downer chill area a short walk from the tents.

Make sure you carry your bluetooth speakers to the camp. It feels good dancing the day away as you watch the sunset!

It was so glorious watching the sunset. It looked absolutely heavenly. And so did the stars at night!

The camp is such a lovely place and there are laods of other activities to do there too. There is Ngare Ndare Forest nearby that has blue pools which we didn’t get a chance to go to but I will show you a picture of it either way.

For more details about the place and booking, you can check out its page on AirBnb here. The place only costs Ksh 5,000 for a double tent! Book book book! The host, Rob, is a super sweet guy and will make sure you have a breezy time from booking to when you arrive. Super host indeed!

Enjoy your glamping!

How to get to Sieku

You can check it out on Google Maps here

Sieku is 235kms from Nairobi, which generally takes around 3.5 hours. It’s
around 40 minutes’ drive from Nanyuki – all on fairly decent roads. I would advise you to go with a 4 x 4 vehicle especially during the rainy season so that you don’t encounter any issues on the muddy roads!
