Lamu Tamu

I had always wanted to visit Lamu because it seemed like such a relaxing town. However, the negative press around its security made me afraid to go alone. Luckily, Just Rioba organised an all girls trip and I knew I had to join the group! I hadn’t done a trip with people I barely knew before, so I was simultaneously anxious and excited at the same time. The group had such an amazing mix of personailities! Here’s a summary of our itinerary that you can borrow for your next trip to Lamu.

Watamu

Happy new month! It’s been a while and cabin fever is killing me. After missing travel, I started looking back at my old trips from 2019 and 2020 and realized there were quite a number I had forgotten to share on my blog. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing cool places you can visit that I have been to. Let’s start with Watamu!

Uganda

I just realized that I had not written a blog post in 2019 and knew I had to post something. Happy New Year!

I was reminiscing about my trips to Uganda recently and wanted to share what I loved most about the ‘Pearl of Africa’!

3 things to do while in Kilifi

I have been to Kilifi around three times in the past year and it has really started to grow on me! When I was there for the Kilifi NYE festival, I met people who were around for a short stay but had barely left the festival camping site!

If you ever go to Kilifi (which you really should by the way), here are a few suggestions of places you can visit.

Kilifi D

I really look forward to the end of the year because I always go to the Coast (like so many other Kenyans) After having such a blast at the Kilifi New Year 2016/17 festival the year before (read about that here), I had to do it again! Continue reading “Kilifi New Year 2017/2018”

David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT)

I love animals. Love them to the core! I was really excited about visiting the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) about a fortnight ago. I couldn’t stop admiring the shots I took that day. Baby elephants (calves) are just the cutest!

Sieku Glamping – A rustic haven

Sieku cover.jpg

I have gone camping only twice in my life and loved the experience. But let me tell you, I had no idea what I was missing out on! Ever heard of glamarous camping? Glamour + camping = GLAMPING! And Sieku Glamping is the perfect embodiment of this! Leave all the tussles of unpacking tents, sleeping in a horrible sleeping bag and getting ants all over your tent behind! This place was PERFECT! My friends and I decided to go there this past weekend (which was coincidentally my birthday weekend) Continue reading “Sieku Glamping – A rustic haven”

Oloolua Nature Trail

Last weekend, my friend and I decided to go to Oloolua Nature Trail in Karen. It is part of Oloolua Forest. I had never been there before so I was really excited. I was not too sure about making the visit a blog post so I did not take too many photos.

The Distant Relatives Experience (Day two)

Bofa Beach, Kilifi

I enjoyed my second day in Kilifi the most. Having made friends with other people staying at the eco-lodge, we decided to do a lot of activities together that Saturday. I knew it would be a long day so I ensured I had a heavy healthy breakfast to give the start of the day a good kick. Continue reading “The Distant Relatives Experience (Day two)”
